FIELD: railway transport; traffic control.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to navigation systems of rail vehicles. According to invention, computer is installed on board the running object and at least one satellite navigation receiver connected to computer. Passive markers are safely installed on rail track with possibility of definite determination of beginning and end of each separate significant section of rail track. Device is provided for activation and recording of responses of markers equipped with antennas and connected to computer. Marker data base is placed on movable object or stationary, with possibility of access from computer through data transmission channels. Unattended passive markers are devices supplied by energy of electromagnetic oscillations transmitted from movable object through antennas of activation device and made for radiation of modulated electromagnetic oscillations characterizing place of location of marker at reception of said energy.
EFFECT: provision of high accuracy of positioning of rail vehicles, both self-propelled and non-self-propelled, possibility of use as component part of system providing information support of traffic control.
