FIELD: forest and wood-working industry, in particular, drying of lumber.

SUBSTANCE: at first the lumber is stacked with the face down with the subsequent reorientation of the pile with stacking of the lumber with the pile edges on one another, the heat-transfer agent is supplied under the lumber piles for control of the supply in the length of the drying chamber, the piles and the heat-transfer agent are fed to the drying chamber in the reciprocally perpendicular directions, the piles are unloaded in succession for an extra unloading of the dried lumber piles. The device for drying of lumber has loading and unloading doors with at least one intermediate door positioned between them.

EFFECT: reduced cost of equipment, provided drying of lumbers of any kinds in chambers of continuous and periodic action in the conditions of large lumber processing enterprises and in the conditions of small shops, enhanced quality of drying.
