FIELD: technology for electric measurements, in particular, for measuring parameters of chargers with bridging resistors and overvoltage limiters, meant for protecting electric equipment from storm-induced and commutation-induced overvoltages.

SUBSTANCE: device contains generator of testing voltage, which powers overvoltage protection means to be tested and voltage divider, consisting of serially connected high-ohm resistor and measuring resistor, one of outputs of which is connected to common ground, device also contains a recording cathode-ray oscillograph. Device is additionally provided with an additional resistor, connected between common ground and measuring resistor, interference suppression system, connected to measuring resistor by input clamps and to recording cathode-ray oscillograph by output clamps, launch block, connected by its output to additional input of recording cathode-ray oscillograph, which additionally has controlling output, connected to additionally provided input of testing voltage generator. Recording cathode-ray oscillograph is made in form of digital oscillograph, provided with energy-independent memory, port for connection with personal computer, galvanic decoupling block for input analog measuring circuits, autonomous power source and computing block, allowing to automatically measure and calculate the disruption voltage, remainder voltage and charge development time.

EFFECT: it is possible, with high precision and in automated mode, to measure discharge parameters of means for protection from overvoltages, such as disruption voltage, remainder voltage and time of discharge, and it is also possible to operatively save the data from measurements in electronic form with their following transfer to personal computer.
