SHEET PARTS JOINING METHOD, JOINED PARTS ASSEMBLY AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B21D39/03 

FIELD: plastic working of metals, namely joining П- shaped or Г- shaped part with flat sheet.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying pressure to pack of joined parts alternating with stepped notches for forming rectangular concavity and convexity; displacing pressed out metal from lateral sides of joint and from recess of bottom outside zone of sheet pack convexity and bonding by strike. Rotation of apparatus relative to joined parts or rotation of joined parts relative to apparatus by predetermined angle is realized relative to groove forming gap in jaws of housing of apparatus and in slide. Assembly for joining flat sheets with П- or Г-shaped flanges has predetermined pitch between axes of fastenings and simultaneously it provides lowered number of fastenings. Apparatus includes mounted in housing die, floating set of punches in the form of desired contour plates, moving slide and centering device secured to it and having member for regulating clamping degree and fixation of all set of punches. Angular Г-shaped gap- forming grooves and visual slit are formed in housing and in slide.

EFFECT: improved operational reliability, strength of joint, enlarged manufacturing possibilities of method and apparatus.
