FIELD: explosives.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises providing solution of octanite in organic solvent (dimethylformamide), precipitation, and filtration. Solution is prepared at 125-135°C. Resulting solution is cooled to 23-28°C. Precipitation is carried out in two stages. In first stage, acetone is added to solution and then water in amount 0.01-0.10 parts per 1 part acetone, after which precipitate is separated from solution. In second stage, more water is added to solution so that water-to-acetone ratio achieves 1/6 to 1/8 and resulting precipitate is separated. The two precipitates are finally combined.
EFFECT: enabled preparation of heat-resistant octanite with particle size 1-2 mcm.
