FIELD: cryogenic equipment, arrangements for separating or purifying gases or liquids.
SUBSTANCE: method involves filling cryostats with liquid nitrogen and supplying gaseous helium into the cryostats for following helium cooling, filtering and cleaning of impurities generated during helium cooling; preliminarily cooling gaseous helium by two reverse flows, namely cold helium flow and nitrogen vapor flow; finally cooling gaseous helium to temperature of not more than -150°C in boiling liquid nitrogen bed; filtering and cleaning helium flow; heating gaseous helium to temperature of not more than -60°C by direct gaseous helium flow; heating gaseous helium flow in heater if necessary. All operations are carried out under pressure control at cryostat inlet and outlet. If pressure difference exceeds 1 MPa liquid nitrogen supply is stopped and gaseous helium flow is directed to another cryostat. Then the disabled cryostat is heated by supplying heated low-pressure nitrogen to the cryostat or all cryostats are heated simultaneously by supplying heated low-pressure nitrogen to the cryostats after gaseous helium flow purification operation termination.
EFFECT: increased efficiency.
