FIELD: metallurgy, namely casting processes with use of centrifugal force.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying protection coating onto working surface of chill mold; pouring into chill mold melt metal and performing centrifugal casting of billet. Before applying protection coating, working surface of chill mold is subjected to sand blasting by means of abrasive material with fraction size 630 - 680 micrometers such as synthetic corundum sand. Then said surface is heated till temperature 250 - 350° C and titanium oxycarbonitride layer with thickness 0.1 -0.4 mm is applied onto it. Stages of melting, titanium pouring into chill mold with wall thickness consisting 0.5 - 2.0 of wall thickness of cast billet and of producing casting are realized in vacuum at residual pressure 10-2 - 10-4 Hg mm.
EFFECT: improved quality of castings, enhanced strength of casting mold.
