FIELD: sugar industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves liquoring cane raw sugar until dry substance content in melt is 38-45%; carrying out defecation, two-staged saturation and filtration; after defecation-saturation procedures, decolorizing filtered melt by means of active carbon in two stages with intermediate filtration therebetween and after second stage. Active carbon consumption at first stage is 0.2-0.6% and at second stage 0.1-0.4% by weight of melt depending on desired decolorizing effect. Before feeding for boiling out in first-grade massecuite vacuum unit, decolorized melt is subjected to saturation until dry substance content therein is 68-72%.
EFFECT: provision for deeper cleaning of melt accompanied with increase therein of dry substances before boiling out in first-grade massecuite, and increased yield and quality of sand sugar.
