FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; off-furnace treatment of metallurgical melts by powder-like reagents.
SUBSTANCE: wire has steel envelope and filler made from mechanical mixture of calcium and iron at ratio, mass-% of 25-45 and 55-75, respectively. Iron is introduced into filler in form of cast-iron or steel shots or steel granules or steel grits; ratio of wire components is as follows, mass-%: filler, 45-80; steel envelope, 20-55. Provision is made for wide range of wire production: from 8 mm to 16 mm at higher filling.
EFFECT: reduced fire and explosion hazard; enhanced assimilation of calcium by metal melt.
