FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, namely to out-of-furnace treatment of metallurgical melts with powdered reagents. Flux-cored wire consists of a steel shell and filler made of a mechanical mixture of a low-melting nitrogen-containing substance – granular carbamide and iron in the form of a finely divided material, for example an iron powder. Correlation between the components of the filler wire, mass %: granulated carbamide 40÷50, iron – the rest, and the ratio of the mass of iron powder to the mass of the shell is (0.18÷0.23):1.
EFFECT: invention allows to expand the functionality of the wire, increase the yield of the usable metal by reducing the emission of liquid metal, and also increase its toughness.
