CESIUM-CONTAINING RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCE Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC G21G4/00

Abstract RU 2284067 C2

FIELD: radioactive isotope technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing liquid radioactive solutions containing radioactive cesium isotopes and can be used in radiochemical industry. Substance is depicted by following formula: (CsxA'x1A"x2...)(B'y1B"y2...)(R'y1B"z2...)[(B*'mlB*"m2...)(R*'n1R*"n2...) x (M*'k1M*"k2...)(PO4)3], wherein 0<x≤2, x+Σxi+ Σyi+ Σzi=2, 0≤Σxi<2, Σmi+Σni+Σki=2, 0≤Σyi<2, 0≤Σzi≤1, 0≤Σmi≤1.5, 0≤Σni≤2, 0≤Σki=1.5; A, B, R are cations in interframe positions; B*, R*, M* are cations in frame positions; A', A", A'" are Na, K, Rb; B', B" are Sr, Ba; R', R"... are Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu; B*', B*"... are Ca, Mg, Sr, Mn, Co, Ni; R*, R*"... are Al, Ga, In, Cr, Fe, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu; M*', M*", M*'" are Ti, Zr, Hf; provided that atom radii difference values Δк=Σк(CsxA'x1A'x2...)(B'y1B"y2...)(R'z1R"z2...)-Σr(B*'m1B*"m2...)(R*'n1R*"n2...)(M*'k1M*"k2...), which value lies within a range of 0.56 to 1.11 Å. Invention allows obtaining matrix with content of cesium up to 42% and high chemical stability and including into matrix any elements containing in radioactive cesium solutions.

EFFECT: enabled convenient preparation of radioactive portion of isotope sources so preventing transfer of cesium into gas phase, simplifying dosage of powder into source ampoule, and preparing matrix for solidification of cesium solutions.
