FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: immobilisation of a Sr-Cs fraction of highly active wastes by incorporation into geo-ceramic matrices includes calcination of the highly active wastes with addition of an aluminosilicate mineral in the form of bauxite, with preliminary phosphatisation thereof and calcination of pre-phosphatised apatite ore mill tailings. Both calcination products are mixed and ground to particle size of 1-5 mcm in a liquid organic phase, which is then removed with slow calcination, and the obtained homogeneous mixture after moulding is sintered at 900-920°C. The obtained geo-ceramic matrices have high chemical resistance, which is defined by average leach rate of Cs and Sr of 10-6 g/cm2·days.
EFFECT: improved immobilisation properties of geo-ceramic matrices, simple process of producing a geo-ceramic, high density and homogeneity of geo-ceramic blocks.
