FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; making steel for round billets.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes feed of metal scrap and molten cast iron to electric steel making furnace, cutoff of furnace slag, addition of lumpy aluminum in the amount of 0.5-1 kg/ton of steel, lime in the amount of 5-7 kg/t of steel and silicon-containing ferro-alloys to obtain content of silicon in steel up to 0.1%, treatment in "ladle-furnace" unit continued for 40-75 min, deoxidation of slag before addition of deoxidants with coke powder, crushed ferro-silicon and aluminum-containing powder-like material in the amount of 0.3-05 kg/t of steel each to obtain concentration of FeO in slag not exceeding 1%, addition of aluminum wire to obtain content of aluminum in steel in the amount of 0.025-0.030% and wire with silico-calcium in the amount of 150-250 g/t of steel and blowing steel with inert gas at flow rate of 10-45m3/h.
EFFECT: reduced concentration of oxygen and contamination of steel with non-metallic inclusions.
