FIELD: electrolytic production of aluminum; roasting of aluminum electrolyzer hearth.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes heating the hearth to temperature not below 900°C; hearth is heated to temperature of 300°C at a rate of 40-60°C/h and from temperature of 300°C to 450-500°C at a rate of 15-25°C/h; upon attaining of temperature of 450-500°C, holding is carried out for 9-12 h, after which hearth is heated to temperature of 900°C at a rate of 15-25°C/h.
EFFECT: increased service life of electrolyzers.
