METHOD FOR MOUNTING HEARTH OF ALUMINUM CELL Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, namely production of aluminum by electrolysis of melt salts, for example mounting of hearth of aluminum cells. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing hearth sections; rigidly fixing them; filling layer-by-layer interblock joints and peripheral joints with hearth mass; compacting hearth mass; realizing spot rigid fixation of hearth sections one relative to another and to board lining at least at two points for one cross interblock joint and(or) for one peripheral joint for each hearth section. Fixation is performed due to pouring refractory and chemically resistant concrete into lower portion of joint by 1/8 - 1/10 of section height. In addition each hearth section is rigidly fixed at least at one spot to lengthwise peripheral joint and to central interblock joint.
