FIELD: hydraulic building, particularly fish-protective devices included in water-intake structures and adapted to protect young fish from penetration in water-intake structures.

SUBSTANCE: fish-protective device comprises filter arranged in water current and made as lattice bracket filled with filtering members so that the members may slide inside the bracket by means of outer drive. Filtering members are made as hollow balls of resilient material. Outer ball shells are provided with through orifices uniformly distributed over the full shell surfaces. Filtering pressure face of lattice bracket may slide with respect to filtering members and is connected to drive pull-bars. Method for filtering characteristics regulation involves changing hydraulic characteristics by filtering member position and filter open area change, which is carried out by filtering layer thickness change. Filtering member position change is accomplished by filtering member volume change, which is carried out by filtering member compression and infiltration of liquid volume portion present inside filtering members so that outgoing concentrated liquid jets are created.

EFFECT: simplified structure and increased efficiency of filter characteristics control.
