ARMORED VEST WITH IMPACT COMPENSATORS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC F41H1/02 

FIELD: aids of individual protection of personnel, in particular, armored or bulletproof clothes, applicable for military purpose.

SUBSTANCE: the armored vest has a cover with lapped armored plates in pockets, and a backing. The backing is made in the form of impact compensators of sections representing chambers of airproof rubberized Kevlar fabric with porolon inside it, faced with metal plates on the side of the armored plates. The center of mass of the impact compensators is positioned opposite the angles of the armored plates, and one or several hermetically closed openings is made in each compensator, their total area related to the front area of the impact compensator does not exceed 1:33, they provide for an air outflow from the impact compensator at a constant pressure at which the openings get open as a result of influence of the armored plates involved in motion.

EFFECT: reduced degree of injuring action of the protective plates of the armored vest on the biological object at their non-piercing by ammunition fragments, bullets and other injuring elements, as well as enhanced protective properties of the armored vest without any increase of its mass.
