SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions comprising synthetic polymers that show stability against oxidative, thermal or visible light-induced destruction and comprising a stabilizing agent represented by compound of the formula (I): wherein each R₁ and R₂ means independently of one another hydrogen atom or (C₁-C₈)-alkyl; R₃ and R₄ mean C₈-alkyl; R₅ means (C₁-C₇)-alkyl. Also, invention relates to a method for stabilizing thermoplastic polymer against oxidative, thermal or visible light-induced destruction that involves addition of compound of the formula (I) or its treatment with this compound.
