FIELD: processes for forming of wear-resistant, dielectric, corrosion-free and ornamental coatings, may be also used for deposition of coatings on articles manufactured from aluminum, magnesium and titanium alloys.
SUBSTANCE: method involves using article as working electrode; submerging electrode into bath filled with electrolyte, said bath constituting main counter electrode having larger surface than article; partly screening article surface by setting dielectric screens within bath and applying dielectric material onto part of article surface having area S, dm2, ranging between N/2 and N/8, where N is electric power consumed during electrolysis process, kW, in the process of displacement of article and screens one relative to another.
EFFECT: provision for obtaining of uniform oxide or oxide-ceramic coating or coating having desired thickness and properties on surface of article having complicated shape and predetermined size, including large-sized article, increased efficiency and provision for utilization of low-power source.
