FIELD: sparking plugs.
SUBSTANCE: the spark plug has a body with a frame electrode, central electrode fastened in an insulator, and additional electrodes positioned between the central and frame electrodes. The additional electrodes compose a chain of spark gaps distributed to the volume of the combustion chamber, and the frame electrode is positioned at the end of the chain. Each additional electrode is positioned in its additional insulator and fastened by a clamp to the inner surface of the combustion chamber by screws, or the additional electrodes are positioned in one common additional insulator fastened by a clamp directly to plug body. Each end of the electrodes making up the spark gap forms projecting sharpened surfaces separated by a recess, and the opposite projecting surfaces and the recesses of the electrodes form the spark gap.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of plug ignition action providing ignition of the combustible fuel mixture simultaneously over the entire volume of the combustion chamber.
