FIELD: industrial inorganic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: carbon nitride, useful in electronic and medicinal engineering, in manufacture of luminophors, rigid computer disks, and elevated-hardness tools, is prepared by a method comprising thermal decomposition of alkali metal thiocyanate in evacuated sealed chamber constructed in the form of two communicating vessels, wherein temperature gradient between Tmax ≤ 500°C and Tmin =˜20°C is created, after which condensed carbon sulfide is removed.
EFFECT: increased yield of product under environmentally safe conditions.
