FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology of producing catalysts, specifically a three-component photocatalyst based on carbon nitride, indium zinc sulphide and carbon dots. Three-component photocatalyst for decomposition of organic contaminants under action of visible light is an aqueous suspension of powder consisting of interconnected phases of graphite-like carbon nitride g-C3N4 and indium zinc sulphide ZnIn2S4 with inclusions of carbon points, at a concentration of indium zinc sulphide in photocatalyst of 60-92 wt.% and weight ratio of graphite-like carbon nitride g-C3N4 and carbon points (5-50):1, respectively. Method of producing disclosed catalyst includes the following steps: first, an aqueous dispersion of graphite-like carbon nitride g-C3N4 and carbon points taken in a weight ratio of 5:1 to 50:1 is obtained by ultrasonic mixing, then, zinc, indium and sulphur sources are added to the obtained dispersion in an amount which provides formation of indium zinc sulphide in range of 60-92% of the total weight of the photocatalyst, and stirred at room temperature for 12 hours, obtained mixture is subjected to hydrothermal treatment in an autoclave at temperature of 180 °C for 12 hours, precipitate is separated, washed with deionised water to remove impurities and dispersed in deionised water to obtain a suspension.
EFFECT: disclosed photocatalyst has high photocatalytic activity with respect to various organic pollutants when exposed to visible (sunlight) light.
