FIELD: analytical chemistry (photo-metrical analysis), possible use for determining concentration of active chlorine in different water types, in particular, in drinking water (maximum permissible concentration 0,3 mg/l) in water of pools, in sewage.

SUBSTANCE: method includes processing indicator reagent sorbed onto carrier by solution being analyzed, and then distributing concentration on basis of color change degree of indicator reagent. As carrier, foamed polyurethane is used, as indicator reagent, restored (blue) form of molybdenum-silicon heteropolyacid is used, sorbed in amount (12-15) mcm/g of carrier, while sorption of molybdenum-silicon heteropolyacid onto foamed polyurethane is performed at concentration of ions H+ in solution (0,1-4)M, for processing solution being analyzed is used, containing sulfuric acid in concentration (1-2)M, and degree of indicator color alteration is determined in accordance to method of spectroscopy of diffusion reflection at wave length appropriate to maximal absorption of blue form of molybdenum-silicon heteropolyacid.

EFFECT: simplification of method and increased reproducibility with preservation of good sensitivity.
