FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to qualitative and semiquantitative detection of nickel (II) ions in aqueous solutions and can be used for rapid analysis of working solutions away from laboratory facilities. The indicator contains a modified matrix based on silica gel and an organic reagent. The modified matrix used is silica gel in OH- state, modified by trimethylammonium groups. The organic reagent is 1-(4-sulphophenyl)-3-methyl-5-(benzoxazol-2-ly) formazan and, additionally, aqueous ethanol solution with the following ratio of components, wt %: said silica gel 95.999-97.990, said organic reagent 0.001-0.040, aqueous ethanol solution - the rest.
EFFECT: easier and faster analysis, as well as accurate results at maximum permissible concentration at multiple excess of other metal ions.
