FIELD: building, particularly to remove ice and snow from footpaths and roadways with the use of permanently-installed heating or blowing devices.
SUBSTANCE: road paving comprises substrate coated with bearing layer and reinforced concrete curb blocks connected with each other. The curb blocks are arranged along footpath and are supported by heat-reflecting and heat-insulation layer located on bearing layer area under curb block and from footpath side and extending for the full curb block length. Electric heaters, which are electrically connected in series or in parallel, are also provided. Some electric heaters are built in curb blocks so that each curb block includes one electric heater. Other electric heaters are embedded in road drain well for depth equal to drain system freezing depth. Each electric heater comprises metal pipe provided with steel reinforcing bar located in the pipe. The reinforcing bar is surrounded with inductance coil. Curb blocks are in thermal contact with road drain well grid. The inductance coil may be linked to power supply unit output. Power supply unit input is connected to electricity supply network. Power supply unit comprises protective module having inlet, which is power supply unit inlet, and outlet linked to snow formation sensor. As current passes via inductance coil the coil heats up. Reinforcing bars and pipe thermally associated with block are heated by to induction currents and magnetic losses. As snow falls and snow bank rises over curb block the blocks heat up, snow thaws and groove for water delivering into drain system is formed near curb blocks.
EFFECT: increased service life and maintainability, reduced thickness.
