FIELD: engineering of equipment for testing impact stresses, possible use primarily during tests of highly intensive impacts on various devices and tools.
SUBSTANCE: falling weight test stand consists of wave duct, impact effect source and a set of inserts with varying acoustic yielding. Aforementioned set of inserts is mounted between the source of impact effects and wave duct. Set of inserts includes at least one insert made of material, compressive resistance of which exceeds its tensile strength, and the area of transverse cross-section is selected from formula where σ=P/F - stresses in inserts; σP - allowed tensile stresses; σC - allowed compression stresses; P - force, affecting the set of inserts from the side of pyrodevice; F - area of cross-section of insert. Insert made of material, compressive resistance of which is greater than tensile strength is the first one to be mounted on the side of wave duct.
EFFECT: prevention of transferring of secondary impulses onto test subject.
