FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to impact testing and can be used mainly during high-intensity impact tests for various devices, which comprise multilayer devices in form of, for example stacks of plates made from composite materials, honeycomb panels etc. The device consists of waveguides, a source of impact force and a set of inserts with different acoustic compliance, placed between the source of impact force and the waveguide. Between the set of inserts with different acoustic compliance and the waveguide there is a docking device, made in form of a thick-walled cylinder with a bottom. On the inner diametre of the cylinder there is a thread for joining the cylinder with the set of inserts, and at the bottom there is an opening for a bolt. A shoulder is made on the edge of the bottom, the diametre and width of which are equal to the diametre and thickness of the wall of the waveguide. At the butt-end of the waveguide, there is an insert with an opening, which is mated with the corresponding part of the bolt through a threaded joint. The test object is placed between the docking device and the butt-end of the waveguide.
EFFECT: more accurate determination of the damping mechanism.
