FIELD: shipbuilding; building of high-speed sea-going vessels with wing-shaped sails controlled from deck house.
SUBSTANCE: proposed vessel has displacement-type hull with masts located in CL. Each mast is made in form of vertical tube secured to bearings fitted on vertical cantilever and provided with wing-shaped sail and control wing. Vessel is also provided with transmission system including reduction gears with drive and driven gears and engines connected with drive gears. Sail of each mast is divided vertically in many separate sections. Each section has fixed center part and movable extreme parts made in form of framework with sail cloth stretched over them. Vertical tube of mast is provided with horizontal rod press-fitted in bearings at level of each section. Secured to cantilevers of this rod is framework of extreme movable parts of sail section and sprockets thrown into engagement with vertical chain connecting them in pairs. Mast sail sections are divided into upper and lower tiers; cantilever of horizontal rod of each tier is provided with vertical bevel gear fitted on it and thrown into engagement with driven gear of transmission system and upper tier is provided with two bevel gears secured to bearings fitted on vertical tube by means of larger horizontal bevel gears thrown into engagement with smaller horizontal bevel gears fitted on vertical shaft secured in bearings mounted on vertical tube; upper gear is thrown into engagement with vertical bevel gear. Control wing of mast is made in form of vertical cantilever plate radially secured to outer tube which is secured in bearings fitted on mast vertical tube and is provided with horizontal bevel gear fitted on it and thrown into engagement with vertical drive gear of transmission system.
EFFECT: enhanced stability and increased running speed at strong wind; facilitated control of sails; reduction of capsizing wind moment; enhanced reliability; enhanced handling of vessel by small crew.
