FIELD: medicine, namely, experimental modeling using guinea pigs, possible use for modeling larynx access during endolaryngeal manipulations through natural respiratory tracts.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to method, fauces expander is inserted into oral cavity of guinea pig, made in form of interconnected branches. As expander, Killian nose mirror is used. Branches are opened and tongue is pushed aside to receive access to soft palate. Then on soft palate a horizontal slit is made on both sides from fauces mouth, after that branches are advanced into vestibule of larynx, displacing epiglottis upwardly, to open view of voice folds, arytenoid cartilages and voice slit. Then necessary surgical operations are performed.
EFFECT: provision of adequate access to larynx of guinea pigs during endolaryngeal surgeries with prospect of further application of access method to humans due to conformity of anatomic structure of larynx.
