FIELD: materials handling facilities.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gripping devices of large\size containers. Proposed gripping device for containers with fittings has crossmember, carrying frame consisting of longitudinal and cross beans, guides and gripping heads mounted on carrying frame and equipped with turning mechanism. Carrying frame is made slewing, being rigidly secured on gear rim of slewing mechanism and engaging with gear of vertical geared motor with brake installed on crossmember. Detachable cross end beam with gripping heads and their turning mechanism is secured on end of longitudinal beams of carrying frame from each side. Said mechanism has electric drive, turning device and tie-rods connecting gear sector with gripping heads. Flanges with elastic disk provided with radial holes are installed on shaft of turning mechanism electric drive. Torque-limiting clutch with pins is mounted on hinge-speed shaft of reduction gear. Each gripping head consists of fitting head and it is furnished with shock absorber.

EFFECT: increased maneuverability and reliability at automatic operation.
