FIELD: metallurgy; method of production of cast iron in blast furnace with use of worn tires.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes charging the burden containing ground worn tires in furnace. Consumption of tires (m), kg/t of metal or matte is determined as minimum calculated by the following dependence: m=100·Δ·[S]·(1000+Ls·Ш)/(α·Ssol.res.),m=104·ΔZn/(A·ZnA), where Δ[S] and ΔZn are maximum permissible increments of sulfur in metal or matte and zinc in burden, % respectively; LS is coefficient of distribution of sulfur between slag and metal or matte; α is amount of solid residue in tires after removal of volatile agents, %; A and ZnA is content of ash in tires and amount of zinc in ash, % respectively; Ssol.res. is content of sulfur in solid residue of tires but for sulfur passing into volatile agents, %; Ш is specific yield of slag, kg/t of metal or matte.
EFFECT: reduced consumption of ore materials and fuel; reduced capital outlays.
