FIELD: chemical and heat treatment processes, namely nitriding parts of construction steels in gas medium, possibly in machine engineering and other branches of industry.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminary heat treatment including stages of normalizing, tempering, quenching, annealing and controlling microstructure of part before nitriding; stabilizing tempering after preliminary mechanical working and then nitriding part surface at temperature 530°C during stages of heating, soaking and cooling in dissociated ammonium medium; denitriding surface layer of part at temperature 530 - 550°C and performing dehydrogenation annealing.
EFFECT: increased rigidity and wear resistance, lowered fragileness of surface layer of parts of construction steels.
