FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, reversing gap-free worm gears with variable coil thickness, may be used in drives furnished with system for automatic controlling of article accuracy, for example in roll mill pressure devices.
SUBSTANCE: gear has worm with variable coil thickness and worm wheel. Axial angles of profile for right-hand and left-hand sides of worm coil differ in value. Angles of profile for both sides of coil of cutter working surface for machining of worm wheel teeth are made equal in value and related to one another by certain dependences. Method for cutting of worm wheel teeth of gap-free worm gear involves turning cutter axis relative to middle plane of wheel with an increase of inclination angle of worm cutter tooth by predetermined angle during machining of worm wheel teeth. Dividing diameter of cutter is greater than dividing diameter of worm and is selected to conform to predetermined condition.
EFFECT: simplified manufacture of worm wheel and reduced labor intensity for manufacture of worm gear.
