FIELD: electrical engineering; high-speed electrical machines using forced convection of gases to remove heat from rotor.
SUBSTANCE: proposed dynamoelectric machine has stator, rotor, first and second shields radially mounted on rotor and spaced apart from its respective first and second end part; they are rotating together with rotor and are radially arranged along respective first and second end parts of rotor to produce respective radial inlet and outlet paths. Each first and second shield has first radially internal butt-end close to shaft which is spaced apart from the latter to form inlet and outlet gas ports, respectively, as well as second external radial butt-end provided on rotor close to cooling ducts and spaced apart from them to pass gas flow between cooling ducts and inlet and outlet paths. Second outlet shield is spaced farther from shaft than first one to afford gas flow to inlet shield and from outlet one under normal operating conditions of machine. Fans installed in inlet and outlet ports of shields function to convey gas flow. Provision is made for angular gas acceleration upstream of inlet to rotor cooling ducts and in addition to partially recover energy on outlet shield by angular deceleration of gas flow.
EFFECT: reduced windage loss.
