FIELD: mineral fibers.
SUBSTANCE: binder is prepared by mixing carboxylic acid, namely di-, tri-, or tetracarboxylic acid with molecular mass about 1000 or below, with alkanolamine under reaction conditions, wherein carboxylic acid and alkanolamine react to produce resin, whereafter reaction is stopped by adding water to reaction mixture. Binder is used for mineral wool products in cured or uncured form obtained by above method and therefore mineral wool products include cured or uncured binder. Mineral wool products are obtained by bringing mineral fibers into contact with the binder followed by solidification of resulting mixture.
EFFECT: improved mechanical characteristics of binder.
