SUBSTANCE: method comprises modeling the process of interaction of the water flow with rough surface by changing the working section of a sloping channel with rough surface to be studied for the smooth surface, determining dependence of height of flow on the water flow rate for the smooth surface. The specimen with the smooth surface is changed for the specimen with rough surface to be studied, and the dependence of the flow height on the water flow rate is determined for the rough surface. The coefficient of the wetted perimeter is determined by dividing the critical flow rate of water corresponding to the critical Reynolds number at the boundary between the laminar and transient regimes of water flow for the rough channel surface by that of the smooth channel surfaces. The value of wetted periphery for the rough surface is assumed to be the production of the coefficient of wetted perimeter by the wetted perimeter for smooth surface.
EFFECT: simplified method and enhanced accuracy of determining.
