METHOD FOR MEASURING EROSION RESISTANCE POTENTIAL FOR FROZEN SOIL Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC G01N33/24

Abstract RU 2346275 C1

FIELD: physics; measurement.

SUBSTANCE: the said utility invention relates to agriculture, in particular, to methods for studying erosion processes on soil surface due to melt waters and can be used in soil science, land reclamation and hydrology. The method implies simulation study of erosion in a water flow table and calculation of power consumed to destroy the sample unit weight by metering water flow height before and after contacting the sample and suspension flow rate. Integral energy consumed for thermal physical and chemical processes during unit weight melting is calculated as a function of the sample initial temperature according to formula where Qi - heat energy of water flow before contacting the soil sample, J; QT - heat energy of suspension flow after contacting the soil sample, J, ΔQsolid, ΔQiC - changes in water flow heat energy, J. Erosion resistance potential of frozen soil is determined according to total power required to destroy the unit weight of frozen soil and integral energy and is calculated according to formula where Ai - kinetic energy of water flow before contacting the soil sample, J; At - kinetic energy of suspension flow after contacting the soil sample, J; Qi -heat energy of water flow before contacting the soil sample, J; QT - heat energy of suspension flow after contacting the soil sample, J; ms - weight of soil destroyed, kg. The method provides for measurement of total erosion resistance potential and thawing potential for frozen soils.

EFFECT: measuring total erosion resistance potential and thawing potential for frozen soils.
