FIELD: cold rolling of strips.
SUBSTANCE: method involves providing rolling in multiple-stand continuous rolling mill, wherein first stand or first stands operate at relatively high reduction extent, and terminating stand or terminating stands operate at relatively low reduction extent to define quality of strip surface; using emulsion as cooling and lubricating means during first passages of strip through continuous rolling mill with relatively high reduction extent; partly removing emulsion from strip after discharge thereof from deformation zone where emulsion had been used; using rolling oil as lubricating means during final passage or final passages of strip through continuous rolling mill with insignificant thinning. Apparatus for performing said method has two independent systems: emulsion feeding system and oil feeding system. Both systems are equipped with pumps, coolers, and back-washing type vacuum and pressure fine filters.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of strip surface.
