FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises running material at plastic forming temperature through roll gap of roll pair made up of upper and lower working rolls. Improved surface quality and roll protection at reduced roll forces is ensured by feeding deeply cooled inert gas, inert gas at normal temperature, lubricant emulsion from admixed rolling oil or completely evaporating hydrocarbons not containing oil, to side surfaces of working rolls in jets forced from separate row of nozzles for purposes of lubrication, cooling, purification and inertisation.
EFFECT: improved surface quality.
