FIELD: ceramics.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for manufacturing glazes, porcelain articles, facing tiles, tableware, or bricks. Glass ceramics is selected from group including, for example, wt %: (a) SiO₂ 42.3, B₂O₃ 3.2, P₂O₅ 0.6, Li₂O 2.1, K₂O 0.7, Na₂O 22.2, MgO 0.9, BaO 0.2, Al₂O₃ 26.1, ZrO₂ 1.2, TiO₂ 0.5 and (b) SiO₂ 42.6, B₂O₃ 6.8, K₂O 12.0, Na₂O 12.0, MgO 5.0, ZnO 0.5, Al₂O₃ 16.0, ZrO₂ 5.1, and others. Glass ceramics is manufactured by melting initial materials and cooling melt to obtain amorphous frits. The latter are then ground on mill to form glasslike powder. Powder is applied onto desired substrate, optionally in combination with other additives, which are commonly used to make glazes or porcelain ceramic articles, after which substrate is directed to conventional firing step to obtain final ceramic product.

EFFECT: increased coefficient of thermal expansion of glass ceramics.
