DISK-TYPE MULTICHANNEL CURRENT COLLECTOR Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC H01R39/00

Abstract RU 2293411 C2

FIELD: electrical engineering; transferring electric signals from mobile piece of equipment to fixed one and vice versa.

SUBSTANCE: proposed multipurpose disk-type multichannel current collector designed for transferring signals between fixed and revolving pieces of equipment has casing that mounts brushes with contacts; stack of disks provided with internal seating holes through which they are mounted on shaft, these holes receiving conductors connected to those disposed in disks; slip-rings disposed on each disk and joined with respective contacts of brushes; disks are made of aluminum alloy and have annular drillings on both sides to receive newly introduced insulating gaskets and printed-circuit boards of two types for operation in intermediate- and low-frequency bands; these double-sided printed-circuit boards carry external slip-rings on face side and internal conductors disposed coaxially to external slip-rings, on underside; it also has newly introduced removable end plates on two sides of current collector to give access to brushes, as well as connectors on two other sides for connection to brushes. Slip-rings can be printed on double-sided foiled insulating material and coated with wear-resistant material. Two extreme external slip-rings insulated from disk are designed to handle intermediate-frequency signals. All external slip-rings are used to handle low-frequency signals and are electrically isolated from current-collector casing. Brushes are made of insulating material and are disposed in gaps between disks on diametrically opposite sides; they are secured in parallel with surfaces of printed-circuit boards and spaced apart through 180 deg. Each brush has body, lid, bushes with contacts, springs, pigtails, and wiring lugs.

EFFECT: reduced axial size, enlarged functional capabilities, enlarged channel-to-channel isolating distance, improved performance characteristics, facilitated brush installation and removal, enhanced reliability.
