FIELD: artistic processing of materials and articles, in particular, incrusting side surfaces of articles such as cornices, billiard cues, canes etc.
SUBSTANCE: method involves forming slots on blank; filling slots with incrusting inserts and processing blank. Method allows three-dimensional articles to be incrusted using compound incrustation patterns where incrusting inserts interweave with one another so as to obtain symmetrical pattern over the entire side surface of article without necessity for time consuming insert selection, fitting and setting processes.
EFFECT: wider range of articles produced by said method, increased accuracy in forming of patterns, and reduced process time.
