FIELD: chemical industry; methods of continuous isothermal production of mononitrotoluenes.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the method of continuous production of the mononitrotoluenes by interaction of the toluene with the nitric acid, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid in the isothermal conditions of the reaction differing by the fact, as the component of the acids mixture they use the mixture of the sulfuric acid and the phosphoric acid. The mixture consists of 45-80 mass % of sulfuric acid, 9-45 mass % of phosphoric acid and 5-15 mass % of water. The method allows to increase the output of paranitrotoluene and ensures the optimal by expenditures concentration of the spent acid with its subsequent return into the reaction of nitriding without accumulation in the concentrated acid of the organic by-products.

EFFECT: the invention ensures the increased output of paranitrotoluene, the optimal by expenditures concentration of the spent acid and its subsequent return into the reaction of nitriding without accumulation of the organic by-products in the concentrated acid.
