FIELD: chemistry of plastics, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: method of synthesis of mononitrotoluenes involves interaction of toluene with nitrating agent consisting of sulfuric acid, nitric acid and water and the following adiabatic reaction, separation of the obtained reaction mixture for an organic and inorganic phases and processing the obtained inorganic phase by distillation. Mixing is carried out for 3 s at energy feeding 1-40 Wt/l of the total reaction mixture. Method can be used for production of plastics, dyes and accessory materials.
