METHOD FOR INTRODUCING WIRE INTO MELT METAL AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC C21C7/00 

FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely methods and equipment for reducing and alloying melt metals in ladle at out-of-furnace treatment, possibly adding to melt metal different type of additives in the form of powder or aluminum wire.

SUBSTANCE: method for introducing uncoiled wire to melt metal comprises steps of restricting inner space of coil due to forming passing zone of wire adjacent to inner surface of coil in order to feed wire without bending to lengthwise axis of coil and further along it to feeding rollers; rotating wire around its axis after it leaves coil in direction of twisting stresses acting at uncoiling. Apparatus for performing the method includes uncoiling device having guide and carrier in the form of Г-shaped rod whose long end is arranged inside coil in parallel to its axis and whose short end is rigidly joined with guide. Feeding rollers are mounted in such a way that their rotation axes form in plan view acute angle necessary for rotating wire around its axis in direction of twisting stresses action.

EFFECT: elimination of wire twisting around its axis at uncoiling wire from coil, smooth feed of wire to melt metal for providing predetermined properties of metal.
