FIELD: analytical instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: ion mobility spectrometer's collector unit, which mobility provides high efficiency of ion collection at output of device for ion separation, is described. Transmission characteristic of mobility is close to linear one within wide range of changes in ion current values and air flow, pumped through spectrometer. Area between output of device for ion separation and exits into spaces between ion collector, electrode for regulation of ion current and surrounding electrodes, is made symmetrical in relation to central cylindrical surface of symmetry of spectrometer, which area goes inside space between electrodes of device for ion separation. When density of ion current or speed of air pumping through spectrometer, ion beam can uniformly wide but its cross-section keeps symmetrical relatively central plane between electrodes of spectrometer.
EFFECT: high efficiency of ion collection at output of device.
