FIELD: analytical instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: collector unit can be used for detecting vapors of organic matters in air composition. Drift spectrometer's ion collector unit has ion collector, electrically insulated from two electrodes to adjust ion current. One electrode fro adjusting ion current is disposed in space between internal electrode of device for ion separation and ion collector. Second electrode is disposed in space between external electrode of device for ion separation and ion collector. Width of gap between electrodes of device fro ion separation within area of placement of electrodes of collector unit is enlarged comparing to initial width of gap between surfaces of electrodes of device for ion separation due to recesses in internal and external electrodes of ion separation device. Surfaces of recesses in any electrode change symmetrically to cylindrical parts of surfaces of electrodes of ion separation devices. Cross-section of input channel of output coupling, communicating with gap between electrodes of ion separation device, is symmetrical in relation to plane of symmetry of spectrometer. Collector has part with cylindrical surface, inside which surface there is a cavity. One edge of cavity is dead; second edge is used for connecting cavity with channel of output coupling. Two slots are made in the surface which are parallel o axial axis of symmetry of cylindrical part of collector and they are oriented in the direction of internal electrode and in the direction of external one for adjusting ion current. There is also one slot in any electrode for regulating ion current; the slot is symmetrical to plane of symmetry of spectrometer.
EFFECT: high resolution of device; simple design; small sizes.
