METHOD FOR ESTIMATING RESISTANCE OF BIOMETRIC PROTECTION TO FITTING ATTACKS Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC G06K9/62 

FIELD: image recognition, possible use during development of electronic passports and identification cards with biometric attachments, and also in biometric systems for physically limiting access.

SUBSTANCE: biometric protection is tested in advance by injecting random biometric images into its input, on basis of testing results probability of erratic granting of access to "outsider" for large amount of common-typed biometric images is determined and these probabilities are recorded in form of power, coefficients of which are normalized by dividing these coefficients by numbers, proportional to number of parameters considered in each certain biometric image, resulting normalized values of coefficients are averaged, while estimates of resistance of biometric protection are created by exponentiation of power base with power, equal to result of multiplication of aforementioned averaged normalized value of power coefficient and number, proportional to number of parameters in biometric image being evaluated.

EFFECT: increased precision when estimating resistance of biometric protection to fitting attacks due to consideration of number of controlled parameters of certain biometric image, and also due to consideration of quality of inputted data.
