FIELD: medicine, oncology.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with predicting organic body alterations due to applying ultrasound waves and could be applied for evaluating the size of reconstructed laryngeal lumen after the organ's resection in case of cancer. One should determine the possibilities for decannulation after laryngeal resection due to ultrasound scanning of cervical area. Moreover, an ultrasound sensor should be moved along median cervical line from hyoid bone up to inferior edge of innominate cartilage. It is necessary to fix the sensor after every 2-3 mm. At each fixation procedure one should fulfill scanning in frontal, frontolateral and sagittal planes at different phases of respiration. At every pace of scanning it is important to measure the diameter of laryngeal lumen and at minimal diameter of laryngeal lumen being 9.0-10.0 mm one should make a decision on patient's decannulation. The innovation enables to objectively evaluate the state of organ's lumen, the possibility and optimal terms for patient's decannulation and, also, detect the chance to restore respiration through natural respiratory tract.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of evaluation.
