FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method affording universal control of plant under all possible conditions such as transfer from operating into high-power supply mains to operation into off-line power system or to feeding isolated load (and vice versa) inherent in synchronous generators dispensing with change-over operations in plant control system and re-adjustment includes measurement of plant output voltage and current, regulation of converter output vector parameter modulus in compliance with desired values of output voltage and maximal admissible current of plant, evaluation of active power output of plant, modeling of generator handling this power and provided with turbine incorporating speed governor, evaluation of change in generator model rotor turn angle due to current deviations in its speed from rated value, and correction of converter output vector parameter phase in compliance with this change. In particular cases of frequency converter design in the form of voltage supply or current supply converter emf or its output current is used as output vector parameter, respectively.
EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities.
